P52 / 21 / bittersweet
I only have one picture this week, because I went to the 8th grade dinner and awards ceremony with my camera but no memory card. Fail. It's ok, though, because this picture captures everyone's personality so perfectly!!
These are my precious eighth graders. I have had the privilege of teaching seven of them for all three years of middle school!! They've come a long way (and so have I) and now all of them are heading off to the wonderful world of high school. They bring joy to my life and challenge me to be a better teacher. I am so very proud of their accomplishments and growth, but so very sad that I no longer get to have them in class and see them everyday.

P52 / 17 / techno
This week I had the privilege of chaperoning a high school field trip to Winterthur, Switzerland. The destination: Technorama! An incredibly awesome hand-on science museum that I have fallen in love with! Here are few shots from the day.

colored light shadows // hanging out in the coriolis carousel

P52 / 16 / anticipation
This series of pictures follows my anticipation for my friend Megan's birthday on Friday. My gift to her was a handmade pearl necklace, as you can see in the last picture.
[With Picnik officially shut down, I have had to find a new photo editing program. I'm currently using PicMonkey but they are still a work in progress and have yet to enable their "collage" feature.]

P52 / 01A / new
The first P52 theme of 2012 is NEW. This can be interpreted many different ways... yesterday I interpreted it literally with my brand new Ticket to Ride expansion pack, which I received from my grandma for Christmas. There's just something satisfying about breaking open the plastic wrapping and smelling the freshness of a brand new toy. Yes, I'm 25 years old and still playing with toys.

2012 Goal: Project 52
After a year of posting a daily picture, I confess: I'm tired!! I don't want to stop working on my photography, though, so this year I am scaling back a bit and have set my sights on a Project 52. This means I'll be posting on a weekly basis (52 weeks in a year) rather than daily. For this project, I will take pictures that reflect a given weekly theme. Due to the nature of this project, I am not requiring myself to post on a daily basis, nor will I be limiting myself to one picture a day. For the second reason, Double Feature Friday may be gone for awhile. In its place I will be introducing "Foody Friday" posts. By far, my most popular subject matter in 2011 seemed to be food, so this year I will be practicing foody photography and hopefully introducing you to some new European cuisine. I may even branch out and share recipes if the featured food was something I prepared myself!
And yes, I know "foody" should be spelled with an -ie.
So, if you're interested in playing along, feel free to leave a link in the comments section so I can find you and follow along with you, too.
I'm really excited for this project, so let the fun begin!
