#358: SADCC Day 25: the infinity 2

Presenting the final scarf tie of the Christmas season!

show&tell #358: SADCC Day 25: the infinity 2

Merry Christmas! The final scarf tie was supposed to be the decoration, but I didn't have anything that could pass for the little brooch the girl uses in the video so I decided to just skip it (since it's identical to the fake knot) and do my own tie for the last one. I call this the Infinity 2 because it's almost identical to the Infinity. Using a rectangle scarf, tie just the corners together rather than the entire end of each side. It makes a much smaller knot and it causes more "drapery" on the final product.

#357: SADCC Day 24: the double rainbow

I managed to find two scarves that work together for the double rainbow... and at the end of my rainbow is a huge box of Lucky Charms!! Yay Christmas!!

#356: SADCC Day 23: the basic loop

This one seems an awful lot like the modern one loop from Day 5... another one of those that is too similar to truly call a different style, but whatevs. Only two more scarf ties to go!!

show&tell #356: SADCC Day 23: the basic loop

#355: SADCC Day 22: the shell roll

Eh, I don't really prefer this one... it's doubtful that I will tie my scarf like this after today.

show&tell #355: SADCC Day 22: the shell roll

And although it's hard to see here, I'm wearing my Christmas present to myself: this awesome shirt from Threadless that I've wanted for a long time (but my size was always sold out) and finally managed to snag during their $10 tees sale!! (In case you can't tell, it's a tribute to the four houses of Hogwarts. Recognizeable only by other nerds like me!)

#351: SADCC Day 18: the waterfall...sorta

I tried to do the waterfall today, but my scarf is too short to wrap around twice. So, this is the modified waterfall. I almost like this better than the actual waterfall.

Yes, it's snowing in my living room. Today we got snow in Kandern for the first time! It was during church and they opened the blinds so we could see it softly falling while we sang.

Also, by now you have noticed my epic hat. Today was my Elf Party, wherein we watched the movie and partook in the four main food groups of elves: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. Well, we didn't have syrup so it wasn't a balanced meal...

#350: SADCC Day 17: the key tie

I was so proud of myself for this one... and then I looked at the video again and realized it doesn't look anything like that it's supposed to! Oh well, I like the way it came out anyway. Today's picture represents today - multitasking for a super productive second day of vacation.

#349: SADCC Day 16: the wrap

Today is my first day of vacation!

I'm modeling another new scarf, this one a gift from my best friend here in Germany, Katrina. I'm also rocking an edgy necklace from my friend Megan (yay Christmas!) and crazy I-got-caught-in-a-torrential-downpour-today hair.

#348: SADCC Day 15: the toss

Today's scarf was imported from Hong Kong and was a Christmas gift from my awesome principal, Ruth. I LOVE IT!!

show&tell #348: SADCC Day 15: the toss
PS: I realize my fingers look pretty similar to Day 12. I promise: then, it was XII and today it's XV. :)

#347: SADCC Day 14: the braid

Confession time: I didn't actually wear this one in public. It felt like I had an elephant's tusk hanging from my neck. I guess it would work better with a thinner scarf, but it has to be long otherwise the braid won't work. Eh, anyway, two thumbs down.

show&tell #347: SADCC Day 14: the braid

#346: SADCC Day 13: the X

It was a long day. I almost didn't get around to taking this picture.

Oh, and The X is kind of impossible. I don't recommend it.

#345: SADCC Day 12: the twist & pull

This is my Vulcan pose. Life long and prosper. With scarves.

#344: SADCC Day 11: the fake knot

Forgive the poor quality of today's pic - all my batteries are dead so I had to resort to using the webcam on my computer.

Also, I've graduated to Roman numerals because, well, I only have 10 fingers. Can you see the XI? It kiiinda looks like I'm flashing a gang sign but I promise I'm not. Word.

show&tell #344: SADCC Day 11: the fake knot

#343: SADCC Day 10: the hidden knot

Katrina snapped today's pic at the Christmas market in Colmar, France. I'm standing in front of a HUGE tree. And it was raining, so I did a little editing to make it look more appropriate to the season. (In other words, the perfectly falling snow is FAKE.)

#342: SADCC Day 9: the boa

True confessions: I'm slightly repulsed by this one. In the video, it looks like a giant donut around her neck, and it just seems so constricting. The look on my face says it all. But, I gave it a shot today because I didn't want to cover up too much of my awesome Phantom tee, and purposely wrapped it looser so avoid feeling constricted by the boa.

show&tell #342: SADCC day 9: the boa

#341: SADCC Day 8: the magic trick

This one looks way more complicated than it actually is. It's a cinch. (haha... no pun intended!)

PS, I was running on fumes by the time I took this picture. Excuse the crazy hair and tired eyes.

show&tell #342: SADCC Day 8: the magic trick

#340: SADCC Day 7: the classic drape

I didn't have time for a solo shot today, so the scarf is a little hard to see. The classic drape works well with shorter, thinner scarves. Mine went perfectly with a collared shirt. This is my high school small group, minus one girl.

#339: SADCC Day 6: the DIY infinity

This one is really nice if you're a teacher, because when you lean over the desk to help a student, the fringe of your scarf doesn't fall all over said student. I will be utilizing it often this winter.

show&tell #339: SADCC Day 6: the DIY infinity
PS: In case you're like me and wondering what is the difference between the infinity and the DIY infinity... the infinity is created using a square scarf folded corner-to-corner whereas the DIY infinity is created using a rectangular scarf that is folded lengthwise. If took me awhile to figure that one out. In my humble opinion they seem way too similar to count as two separate "styles" but oh, well.

#338: SADCC Day 5: the modern one loop

A classic. If the European Loop is the second most common scarf tie, this one is the first.

#337: SADCC Day 4: the european loop

This is probably the first (or second) most common way to wear a scarf.
PS, Today I actually had time to take my picture during daylight hours! Hooray.

#336: SADCC Day 3: the turtleneck

When I saw this one in the video, I didn't really like the way it looked, nor did I think it would be comfy. I actually like the way it turned out with my fringe scarf, and it feels super cozy. Now we just need some snow here in Deutschland.

#281: welcome to the neighborhood

A month or so ago I unknowingly parked in my neighbor's spot on the street, which made him angry enough to tape a nasty letter to my windshield. Apparantly in Germany you can call dibs on public places because the next day, these lines were painted on the street.
