Today the humidity broke and the rain came pouring down, just in time for our afternoon elective classes. Here the Outdoor Education class is getting their first lesson on dealing with the rain.

Today I spent a decent chunk of time at school organizing my new classroom. I love these colorful Ikea storage boxes, which I intended to label with my "vintage" Dymo labeler. Sadly, I discovered that the tape is so vintage it doesn't stick anymore! C'est la vie.

This year I'm relocating to my own apartment, which I am subletting for a friend who will be gone this year. Today, I moved out the majority of my stuff. Tomorrow the move will be complete!

Aside from sleeping until 1:30 pm (yay jetlag) and venturing out for groceries, the only thing I did today was call British Airways' baggage service every four hours to check the status of my two missing bags. Oh, joy.

#162: bye bye bucky
In the midst of my hellos there is another goodbye. We have had Starbuck for exactly 10 years this summer. Today he is going to doggy heaven because he is old, diabetic, arthritic, and dealing with liver failure. Bye bye, Bucky Boy.

#153: goodbye 430
Today I finished packing up my classroom! I'm excited to be done with that daunting task, but also sad because this is the first classroom that I taught in for two whole years straight and now I have to say goodbye to room 430. Watch for a pic of my new classroom to pop up sometime in early August...
