#151: oh, phil

One of the perks of teaching middle school is that you get to have fun visits from former students when they are in high school. Meet Phil  - he was in my first eighth grade class at BFA. His family returned to the States last year and his Christmas present was a visit to Germany this summer. We enjoyed a nice long chat this morning, sharing stories from the year - me learning about high school in the States and he hearing about my adventures of driving in Lugano. We reminisced about last year, like that time I ripped a hole in my pants during homeroom and had to staple them shut. Oh, and we may have gotten into some mischief, too. But that's top secret stuff...

PS: In case you can't tell, those glasses are goofy. Like Phil. :)

slacking off again

Would you believe that my camera batteries died and I just haven't gotten to the store to buy new ones yet? Well, it's true. So I took a screenshot yesterday but totally forgot to post it. And I still don't have batteries yet, so today's picture is also a screenshot. Yay for creative problem solving.
show&tell #126: Wait, what day is it? Are you sure?

#122: surPrIsE

Last week we began studying circles in Math class. I cracked jokes about Pi all week, yet I was still surprised this morning to walk into my classroom and find this surPrIsE waiting for me. Three of my sixth grade girls baked this for me this weekend!

April recap

How is it already May?? This year is seriously flying by. The better part of April was spent on Spring Break (the perks of working at a boarding school - long breaks!), which was fairly uneventful aside from a trip to Munich. So, boredom means some very interesting pictures. Enjoy.

(If you're in Germany, you probably won't be able to view this due to copyright laws. Sorry, not my idea.)
