#87: look what I did...
So this Saturday I had the brilliant idea to clean off my back patio. Unfortunately, the wolf spider living in the dead leaves did not appreciate my idea. He retaliated by racing into my house and chasing me around the kitchen until I managed to capture him in a leftover container. The only thing that kept me from killing him on the spot was the fact that I wanted to show it to my students. So, I brought it to school and with the help of our high school biology teacher "pinned" him. In 24 hours I will remove the pins and his legs will stay stretched out. I'm quite proud of myself for facing such a huge fear... and now I have my very first "specimen" for my classroom.

#84: double feature friday
Like the bottles in today's pictures, I am empty. This week has been one of the most physically exhausting ones of the semester with extra lesson prep, subbing for another class, and running ~5k five of the last seven days. So, my energy tanks are empty and I am going to bed.

my bad
Because I slacked off yesterday, I have two pictures for today. Let's call them #73 and #74.
#73: A good sign that spring is on the way - strawberries at the grocery store! As soon as fresh strawberries are available, I begin craving smoothies everyday. Nothing beats in ice cold blend of fresh fruit - no preservatives, no additives, just pure nature. Yum. This morning I made a jumbo smoothie and sipped it on the way to school. I always enjoy making a little art project out of the fruit before actually pulverizing it. It's the little things, people!
#74: I wrote about a few birthday traditions on my BFA blog this week, one of them being: savoring a deliciously minty Shamrock Shake from McDonald's. I lucked out (pun intended) by entering the world five days before St. Patrick's Day... it meant I got a special treat that wasn't available year round. Living in Europe may have its perks, but one thing it lacks is the Shamrock Shake. Though, on the other hand they have McFlurries made with RitterSport chocolate bars so it's almost a fair trade. Almost. So for the second year in a row I've been bemoaning the fact that I can't have a Shamrock Shake, going so far as to print last week's 7th grade science tests on mint green paper! Then this morning two students came up to me in the hallway and handed me a homemade Shamrock Shake, causing me to squeal with delight and squeeze them to pieces.

February recap
Two months in! February was a bit more challenging in my quest for a new picture everyday... which means you'll probably notice that many of my shots from this month involved food.
A few of my favorites from this month include my coffee mug, my Bible at sunset, and the shot of the basketball with the girls' team in the background. Enjoy!
