#119: double feature friday!
Today's double feature chronicles my biggest achievement this year! About a month ago I began learning to drive a manual transmission because in May I would need to drive a van on our 8th grade class trip. The test involved a 50-question written test, a road signs test including almost 100 signs, a roughly 45-minute driving test, and then another 15-minute "scavenger hunt" where I located various items such as switches, tools for a flat, etc. I study best by writing and by using flashcards, so naturally I prepared myself a huge stack of flashcards to study.
My motivation for passing the test (aside from driving on the class trip, that is) was so that I could open the plastic wrap on my brand new books (birthday presents from myself that just arrived this week).

#117: what is it wednesday?
What is it Wednesday is baaaack! I'm sure you can figure out pretty easily what this is - today one of my 7th graders brought these babies into science class. Ah, the life of a teacher.

#114: grilling out
Today is the last day of the "Spring break means ___ " series. Technically I still have two more days of break left, but if I allow myself to remember that then I won't get any work done before school starts back up. Those lesson plans won't write themselves, now, will they? Insert sad face. Break is officially over.

#101: napping, because I can
This is the beginning of a two-week series I'm calling "Spring Break means ___." The title of each picture will complete the sentence. So today's full title is, "Spring Break means napping, because I can." Enjoy.
PS: It could just be the light, but do I see gray hairs?!

#97: love to luft
In Germany and other European houses that do not have central air or heating, the rooms are warmed individually by way of radiators. In the winter time this means I can keep my bedroom nice and cozy, but if I have to get up to use the toilet I dash down the chilly hallway. In the warmer months, this means I have to open my windows every day for 15-20 minutes to luft or air out the room. The air can get stale and mold can grow if this doesn't happen on a regular basis.
My favorite thing to do in the spring months is to open my windows wide in the morning after I've gotten dressed so that while I finish getting ready for school, a cool breeze can waft through and carry away the "bad" air from the night before.

March Recap
Whelp, three months in and I'm still having fun! Though I must say, this month has definitely been the hardest in terms of finding new things to photograph, and I think I missed my daily post on at least two days this month. I've also broken my "no school related photos" rule a lot more this month. My creative juices have ebbed quite a bit these last few weeks due to equally low energy levels, caused by stress and long days at school. With spring break being a week away, I'm anticipating some refreshment and renewal of my creative energy! On with the recap:
